A Filipino security guard was stabbed to death while doing his job in Claremont, California, in the United States. On June 29 at the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, Mark Manlapaz, 37, was assaulted and stabbed, ABS-CBN News reported.
Police arrived at the campus and found Manlapaz had been stabbed and slashed in the neck. He was found on the front seat of a truck parked on campus. The suspect, a 31-year-old man, was later shot dead by police four blocks away, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The identity of the suspect has not been released and the motive for the assault remains unknown. Manlapaz worked as a Claremont Park Ranger for three years and worked in the California State Polytechnic University Security Team for 16 years.
