Police officers are searching for a South Asian man who is alleged to have indecently assaulted a 31-year-old woman in Kowloon’s Tsim Sha Tsui on Wednesday.

As the woman walked along Minden Avenue at 1am, a man suddenly appeared from behind and tried to drag her into a dark corner, Oriental Daily reported.

Despite resisting the attack and yelling for help, the victim reportedly suffered an indecent assault. When she finally managed to escape, she immediately called the police to make a report of attempted rape.

Police officers who were deployed to the scene conducted a search of the area, but failed to find the attacker.

After checking footage from surveillance cameras in the area, officers from the criminal investigation team at the Yau Tsim Police Station classed the case as indecent assault.

They now seek a 1.8m-tall South Asian man who at the time of the assault was wearing a T-shirt and pants.
