A Filipino carpenter in Tarlac, the Philippines, is in trouble for lying to police and telling them he was robbed on his way home to hide an affair he was having from his wife.
Roger Belizar, 47, claimed that at 9pm on Tuesday he was on his motorcycle and was on his way home when two men stopped him. Belizar claimed the two men stole his mobile phone, his clothes and his motorcycle, GMA News reported.
Belizar claimed he had no choice but to walk home naked. When he arrived at his house at 2am, he told his wife the story and they reported the incident to police in the morning.
However, when Belizar was giving his account to police, they noticed there were inconsistencies in his story. Belizar then admitted that he fabricated the story to hide his affair from his wife.
Belizar admitted he had been with another woman at a bar that night. He took the woman to a private place and left his motorcycle in a vacant lot before he walked home. He said he fabricated the robbery to avoid having an argument with his wife.
