A Filipino migrant worker has been stabbed to death inside a car in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

Nasser Musa, 53, who worked as a merchandise driver, was found dead in a car on Monday night. He had been stabbed five times, ABS-CBN News reported.

Edgar Badajos, consul general of the Philippine Consulate in Jeddah, said they received information that a Filipino worker was stabbed to death. He said case officers were dispatched to the area to investigate the incident.

Badajos said Musa was found slumped on the steering wheel in the van and had sustained five stab wounds and an injury at his nape (back) of his neck. A suspect is currently in police custody.

The victim’s remains were brought to Al Noor Specialist Hospital in Mecca (also known as Makkah).

The incident follows the death of a Filipino maid who reportedly died in Medina on Friday after falling from the sixth floor of her employer’s apartment.
