A 56-year-old Malaysian man faced six charges of committing sexual offenses against children in the Sessions Court in Ampang, Selangor, on Thursday after allegedly sending 33 nude photos of a four-year-old Indonesian girl to the toddler’s mother.
The man allegedly sent the images via WhatsApp between February and March this year. Zaulkefli Ahmad was asked to take care of the four-year-old so her Indonesian mother, 40, could work as a domestic helper at a house in Kampung Cheras Baru, the Sun Daily reported.
Ahmad, a father of two, allegedly committed the offenses while looking after the girl at a house in Pandan Perdana between Feb. 23 and March 9, 2018. The court heard he sent a total of 33 photos of the four-year-old to the girl’s mother.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges and his bail request was rejected. The case has been scheduled for mention on May 10. If convicted, Ahmad faces a maximum jail sentence of 15 years and is liable to a whipping of not less than three strokes.
According to TODAYonline, the court also learned that the four-year-old girl was rushed to Ampang Hospital on March 10 by two men – one of them Ahmad – after it was claimed she became unconscious in a toilet at the home due to a seizure.
However, a hospital examination suggested the girl may have been abused as wounds were found on her forehead, chest and legs.
