Macau customs officers say they caught 14 people in two days trying to enter the city by boat or by swimming from mainland China.
On Friday, when officers patrolling areas around the Taipa Ferry Terminal and Macau International Airport, they apprehended two men who looked suspicious and found they were helping other illegal immigrants enter the city, according to a government release.
Officers then patrolled the waters in the area and found one illegal immigrant on a boat and intercepted four others on the shore.
The seven people arrested, six men and one woman aged between 16 and 45, were all from mainland China.
On Saturday, customs officers caught five Vietnamese men and two mainland Chinese men, aged between 22 and 43, swimming in the waters off the Barra Terminal and Jardins do Oceano, Taipa.
All of the suspects were sent to law-enforcement departments for further processing.
