An underground walkway near a Singapore railway station has become a popular rendezvous for foreign domestic workers, but their displays of affection have upset some Singaporeans.
One 45-year-old resident wrote to the Shin Min Daily News to complain that some couples were displaying too much affection, leading reporters from the paper to carry out their own investigation at the Ang Mo Kio MRT Station.
The reporters discovered at least four pairs of migrant worker lovers cuddling and kissing. However, residents had mixed views about the public displays of affection, with most saying it was not causing a problem in the community.
Residents told the reporters they see maids meeting and spending Sundays in a nearby park or in the tunnel. They added that as long as they did not block the way their freedom to enjoy their rest day should be respected.

tama lng naman e dapat in a proper place, I was also passing under MRT station by going church mga kabayan andon naghalakhakan may mga kasama pang bangla..dapat mag observed din tayo ng proper standard of manners kahit ano pa sabihin natin we are strangers in their homelands. we should not act and stand like Singaporean, always in mind that we are Filipinos..

Its not only helpers doing that but locals too….but in general..nakakahiya naman talaga yong ginagawa ng ibang mga katulong dito..pumunta tayo dito para magtrabo hindi para mag landi..buti sana kung mga single eh karamihan sa mga naglalandi my mga pamilya..hindi sapat na rason ang homesick..bago tayo pumunta dito dpat buo ang loob pra sa pamilya.
