A Filipina domestic worker who recently left Hong Kong has returned to work in the city – for the same employer who previously fired her.
The 28-year-old worker, named Lorie, 28, initially came to Hong Kong on June 15 last year. She worked for a male employer in Hang Hau, reports sunwebhk.com, a news portal for Filipinos in Hong Kong.
Things took a turn for the worse last month when Lorie was fired for “talking back” to the man when he was scolding her. She was forced to leave immediately with one month’s pay in lieu of notice.
She told the news portal that she and her employer did not get along, that he often scolded her and that he did not give her a rest day on Sunday. She said that generally stayed silent but that her employer’s temper made her want to resign.
Two days after she returned to her home in Cebu City, Lorie’s employer called her and asked her to return to Hong Kong. The employer said his child had been missing Lorie since she left Hong Kong.
Lorie decided to return because she also missed the child and her friends in Hong Kong. She was promised a rest day on Sunday and to avoid having quarrels she and her employer have agreed to communicate through WhatsApp. She maintains she is now happy with the new arrangement.

flor mira…very true. i experienced that few months ago. eventhough i consulted a doctor & given medications & needed to rest, ‘ never heard my employer to tell me take a rest in short, they are the type of people that are inconsiderate. knowing already the situation of their helper yet never bothered to care. And that’s most likely the same with other employers i suppose . Lack of concern to their helpers regardless how deligent we are in our duties.
Back then our neighbor here fired her maid the employer was so mean to her after she fired her she called me lookin for my friend she want her back bec of her child i told her she should be kind to her maid.
Happy ending.
God bless
Hahaha what a shame to the employer but it is good though that they made her return thr pinay needs work and the employer need her for their child so a nice agreement is good to both gid bless you

Firing her and not paying one month notice is against the Hk Labour Law she should claim her benefits and teach a lesson for this kind of employers.

sometimes we Really love the kids as our own. utmost care we gave to them and they parents got jealous, reason behind to terminate us. kababawan ng pag iisip nila minsan. they should be thankful dapat.
this is acc. to my own experience ONLY.
Goodah!
