The Philippine Embassy in Israel said they had no involvement in an inappropriate Christmas party organized by three Filipino groups after photos of a male stripper performing at the event went viral.
Philippine Ambassador to Israel Nathaniel Imperial said in a statement on Wednesday that the embassy had no involvement in the festive event held on December 28, which featured a performance by a hired male stripper, Philippine Star reported.
“The Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv disclaims any involvement in the appropriate videos and photos of a Christmas party,” Imperial said.
“The Embassy had no hand in that Filipino community event, and calls on everyone to stop spreading fake news,” he said.
The statement came after a blogger slammed two embassy representatives – Consul Reichel Quinones and Cultural Attache Geraldine Gamoso – for not stopping the party and accused them of organizing the event.
The blogger, Niño Suelo Barzaga, uploaded photos of the Christmas party on his Facebook page on Monday.
However, the representatives, who were in Haifa – the port north of Tel Aviv – that evening to attend two Christmas parties. They had no knowledge of the inappropriate performance and left the event before it started, the embassy said.
Imperial said the embassy would take action on complaints from Filipinos who attended the party and called on the three organizations to provide an explanation in writing about the “highly offensive” performance.
The party was organized by the Filipino Workers Association, Israel OFW Association and fraternity group Israel Council, ABS-CBN News reported.

They should be ashamed ofthe party they are having. They should be aware of what their families and friends would have to say here in the Philippines. Filipinos especially the women are reserved type but they are doing the opposite there.
