Nearly 100,000 people have been treated for flu-like symptoms in Taiwan during the past week, government data has revealed. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) stated that a record 97,003 cases were reported at general outpatient clinics across the island.
The figures covered the period between Dec. 24-30, and they showed an increase of 24% compared to the previous week, according to a statement issued on Jan. 3.
In Taipei, the Department of Health reported that the number of individuals visiting outpatient clinics suffering from flu symptoms in the capital was 12,043 between Dec 24-30. This was a 33% rise compared to the previous week, Taiwan Times said.
