Two women are believed to have been shot with a pellet gun in a housing estate in Tseuen Kwan O in Hong Kong’s New Territories on Tuesday.

At around 12:50pm, the pair, aged 66 and 54, were passing by Wo Ming Court in Tsueng Kawan O when suddenly one felt a pain in her neck, while the other woman felt she had been shot a few times in her chest and abdomen, Apple Daily reported.

A district councilor’s assistant witnessed the incident and called the police.

The two women were not seriously injured and refused to be sent to a hospital.

Police found 40 airgun pellets in the area. However, no suspect has been found.

This is the third case in four months that involved airguns being fired in the same area of Tseung Kwan O.

In August, a two-year-old boy was injured in his hand at Ming Tak Estate and the wound was suspected of being caused by an airgun. In September, a window on the first floor of a building in the same housing estate was damaged by an airgun.

Police are still investigating the cases and no culprit has been arrested.
