An Indonesian migrant worker who allegedly killed a 31-year-old female compatriot and grievously injured her 18-year-old brother late last month is wanted by police in Kuala Lumpur.
At 10:40pm on November 29, the male suspect, carrying a knife, was waiting for the woman, who lived in an apartment on the 18th floor of a building in Kuala Lumpur’s Bandar Tasik Selatan area, China Press reported.
It turned out that the woman was accompanied by her younger brother, and after the suspect stabbed the woman to death, he then allegedly severely injured her brother, who was later sent to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Center for emergency attention.
A preliminary investigation found that the victim had some time ago promised to help the suspect transfer part of the pay he was eking out in Singapore back home for his family members in Indonesia.
The suspect was said to be frustrated as she did not conduct the transfer as promised or return him the money. He began to suspect she had cheated him and taken his money.
According to surveillance-camera footage, the husband of the deceased was chatting with a male relative on the ground floor of the residential unit at the time of the attack. They were both ruled out as suspects, said the deputy police chief from Cheras District.
