A Filipino man was refused bail by Hong Kong’s High Court on December 6 after overstaying his visa for 19 years.
Manuel C. Sy Jr. was discovered to have overstayed his visa after being arrested some weeks ago for stealing HK$54 (US$7) worth of items from a supermarket on Hong Kong Island, sunwebhk.com reports.
Sy arrived in Hong Kong in 1998. His mother, who is a permanent resident in the city, applied to keep him in Hong Kong as a dependant but her application was rejected by the Immigration Department. The reason is unknown.
The judge at Sy’s High Court hearing refused to post bail. Sy faces trial in Sha Tin Court on December 21 for breaching condition of stay.

Ng NAKAW k ng ganyan halaga pnhamak m tuloy sarili mo sana humingi k n lng mga kapwa mong pilipino
And if he had not been a thief, he may have been able to steal for another ten, twenty years. Foolish man in more ways than one. Now, surely his mother knew tjat her son had overstayed illegally, so isn’t she also guilty of a crime?

If you support your son and daughter to become a hongkong resident as far as i know should be under 18years of age if over already it will not be granted

Nakakalungkot naman isipin na sa maliit na halaga ninakaw mo pa 🙁
Depends on the situation, the backgrounds, the supporting documents, and now HK immigration is very strict when it comes to that matter, me too my daughter was rejected as well as the officers depend on the background of the person who support the application. But its fine being a law abiding person we should accept HK Immigrations decission and have to follow their laws.
Over staying k n nga nagnakaw ka pa dapat lng sa iyo n makulong
yes, but he must be under 18 while applying application as dependent
If his mother is a hong kong resident, the son should have been too right ?
