The first China International Import Expo will be held in Shanghai from November 5 to November 10, 2018, with the goal of helping promote China’s burgeoning market to the world, the 21st Century Business Herald reported.
China is determined to build the expo into “an open platform for all countries in the world,” where it can showcase its achievements in development and international trade.
It will also promote the international Belt and Road initiative, as well as economic globalization, new development concepts and a new round of landmark projects with “a high-level of opening to the outside world,” the report said.
Wang Bingnan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, said that the Chinese government attaches great importance to import work and the import expo.
It is estimated that there will be more than 100 countries and regional exhibitors, with more than 150,000 domestic and foreign professional buyers at the fair.
The Import Expo will also be held at the same time as the Autumn Fair next year, providing a two-way trade opportunity for exhibitors in China, the report said.
