A 77-year-old woman was found dead at her home on Sunday after her son tried to kill himself in Kwai Chung in the New Territories.
The old woman surnamed Liu and her 34-year-old son surnamed Lee lived in a flat in Shing On House in Kwai Shing East Estate, Oriental Daily reported.
Lee, who quit his job to take care of his mother, had employed two Indonesian domestic workers to help as she suffered various chronic illnesses.
At 11am on Sunday, while the two domestic workers were having a day off, Lee jumped from the flat but survived. He was able to tell police his address when they found him on a slope outside Shing On House.
Lee told officers “it is very tough to look after the elderly”. He was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital in a critical condition, police said in a briefing.
Officers found suspicious circumstances in the elderly woman’s death. After breaking into the flat they found the woman had suffered a number of chop wounds and her head was almost cut off, Apple Daily reported.
A bloody kitchen knife was found inside the flat, which police believed was used in the fatal attack on the woman.
There was no suicide note by Lee but officers found a will that stated how to allocate his wealth – the two maids could get HK$15,000 (US$1,922) and $20,000 each, and the rest should be sent to his aunt in Canada, Sing Pao reported, quoting police sources.
Kwai Ching police are handling the case, which they classed as murder and attempted suicide.

I think ,he decided to kill his mom because of depressions&jealousy.the two workers had money from his mom while he doesn’t have..

Ohhh! Very sad story, maybe this man was suffering of so much depression that was lead him to killed his mother, and decided to kill himself. But unfortunately he was not succeeded with his plan. Now he was facing the charges against him for killing his own mother. Only God can judge you for what have you done!!! ????????????

He is depressed but still he shouldn’t kill his mom,he can send it to the elderly if he thinks it’s too hard to take care
