A video showing a driver holding an iron rod and threatening a couple to get out of his taxi has gone viral on social media.
The incident was captured by a Britain named Dave as he walked to the intersection of Kau Yuk Road and Yan Lok Square in Yuen Long in the New Territories on Wednesday night, HK01.com reported.
On the video the middle-aged taxi driver is seen standing on the pavement with an iron rod in his hand, swearing loudly at the couple, sitting in the taxi, and threatening to hit them.
The couple were frightened and got out the car on the other side. The taxi driver was then seen chasing after them, continuing to scold them.
The woman had difficulty walking and was crying.
Dave said he talked to the couple later and found out that the driver may have misunderstood where they wanted to go – only to find it was just a too short distance.
The driver became emotional and threatened to hit them if they didn’t get out of his cab.
Dave posted the video on social media and said the incident made him both angry and sad for the couple, who were victims of the man’s abuse.
On Thursday, Dave reported the case to the Transport Department and on Friday he handed the video to police for further investigation, Apple Daily reported.
Most of the taxi driver are wild n mannerless in hongkong, they need to learn Hw to deal with passenger n upright their attitudes.better they must b learnt from other developed country like Singapore!

Hong Kong taxi drivers are among the worst in the world!
In that 20 years,HK has already Modify,such as Taxi services is poorer than the past,we called them to TAXI DOG/DC9
It’s a clear violation of law, threating other people’s life with a weapon. Hk police should take action and arrest the driver. It’s a criminal offense and in theory the driver should be imprisoned. The passengers can make s claim on mental offence. Hk Govt should seriously deal with the red taxi problems, I.e. No-crossing harbour practice, rude attitude, etc.,
The most effective way is to introduce competition. UBER! So many countries have legalised UBER.

My girfriend was charged in USD 200,00 from ferry terminal to the airport last december. Beware the HK taxi drivers… you never know what to expect from them.
I also been abused hit by HK taxi driver.. I was so afraid that might be he not let me.out on taxi he can lock the door automatically or others kill me and.i scared of being killed .. so I hurry up open the door and scape imedieltly soon I can . my mistake I captured photo (taxi) was blurry cost my hand was shaking .I reported to HK airport police but police doesn’t willing to help just get some statement and discharged the case .I also reported to transport department but they ignored .
