A 29-year-old woman jumped to her death from the 102nd floor, a buffer floor for fire emergencies, of the International Commerce Centre in West Kowloon early on Tuesday.

At about 3am, a taxi driver called the police after he seeing a woman lying on the road outside the ICC at 1 Austin Avenue, Tsim Sha Tsui, HK01.com reported. The driver initially thought the woman had been injured in a traffic accident and was unconscious.

The woman was certified dead when paramedics arrived. After an investigation, the police believed that the woman fell to her death from a high floor of the ICC.

She had checked into a hotel room at the ICC around midnight and used the room card to go to the 102nd floor, according to the report, citing a police source. She jumped down, hitting the windows of a lower floor of the building, and fell to the ground.

The police are investigating the case but have ruled out foul play.

Developed by Sung Hung Kai Properties and completed in 2011, ICC is currently the 11th-highest building in the world, Oriental Daily reported. The Ritz-Carlton Hotel is located between the 103rd and 108th floors. There is an observatory called Sky100 on the 100th floor and there are four high-end restaurants on the 101st floor.
