There will be no quantitative goals or timetable to follow for the next step in central enterprise reform, Peng Huagang, Deputy Secretary General of the SASAC, said in an interview with the 21st Century Business Herald.
Peng said that the reform of central enterprises is “a gradual process,” and is something that “will not complete tomorrow by implementing today.” He believed it will take another three to five years before all enterprises can achieve preferred levels of integration.
The next step of reform will focus more on the effect and quality of reorganization, to help reformed enterprises achieve strategic positioning, and further push innovation and international competitiveness, he said.
