A Singapore court has jailed a 38-year-old Thai for 10 weeks after he pleaded guilty to filming a female neighbor showering. At 2:45am on October 16, 2016, a 39-year-old woman screamed for help when she saw a white mobile phone pointing at her from a window of the bathroom, Lianhe Wanbao reported.

Police arrived at the scene in Singapore’s Geylang township and confronted Chaisim Santi, whose mobile phones matched the description, as they were both white. However, no indecent photos or videos were immediately recovered from the two devices.

Chaisim, who lived next door to the victim, admitted to the police that he could not help but take videos of the woman when he heard her showering.

The filming took place on three occasions on the evenings of October 13, 14, and 16 last year. Chaisim, who works as a boxing trainer, said the indecent photos and videos were deleted right away after the victim was startled.

The police later successfully recovered secret footage and nine photos of the naked woman from the defendant’s phone.

According to Singapore law, those convicted of insulting a woman’s modesty could face up to one year in jail and be fined, The Straits Times reported.
