A 25-year-old fitness instructor and bodybuilder fell to his death from a commercial building in Central on Hong Kong Island while helping two fitness instructors get a better spot for a photo shoot.

At 9am, Will Kong Wai, a Hong Kong man, climbed out of the 12th floor of the Li Dong Building on Li Yuen Street East to help a 38-year-old Australian photographer find a better position to get pictures of two colleagues, a 27-year-old British instructor and a 25-year-old part-time female instructor surnamed Yuen, Sing Tao Daily reported.

However, he fell to the podium on the fourth floor and was found dead at the scene. His companions immediately called the police.

Police investigated and said they believed that Kong climbed over a one-meter-high railing to stand on a 40 centimeter-wide ledge but lost his balance and fell to the podium, Oriental Daily reported.

Police classed the case as an accident and found nothing suspicious.

Kong was working as a freelance trainer at a gym on the second floor of the building.

According to his website, he had four years of personal training experience.

Kong liked to participate in bodybuilding and fitness events. Early this week he came fourth in the Macau Global Classic Invitational Championship 2017.

Last year he came second in the Olympia Amateur HK (Men’s Physique) and earlier this year he was sixth in the Hong Kong Bodybuilding Championship (Men’s Physique).

Kong studied at South Island School and the University of Manchester, Apple Daily reported.
