All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) on Monday decided to convene a general council and executive committee as soon as possible, according to media reports.

ANI reported that the party passed four resolutions: decisions made by  TTV Dinakaran will have no legal impact, as his appointment as deputy general secretary was nullified on August 10; party mouthpieces – Namadhu MGR magazine and Jaya TV – will be retrieved legally; to call for a General Council meeting (date not finalised); and to strengthen the party so it is capable of running for another 100 years and celebrate the MGR centenary on a grand scale.

Only last week, the two factions of AIADMK, one led by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and the other by former chief minister O Panneerselvam, finally merged after days of meetings and demands from both sides leading to a big political drama in Tamil Nadu.
