The parents of an 11-year-old boy who died in hospital on Saturday night following a school beating have called for a probe.
Vishal, who was in Class 5 at a school in northwest Delhi’s Rohini, was beaten up by three fellow pupils on the grounds of the school on Friday, PTI reported.
According to his parents, Vishal complained of acute stomach pain on Saturday, revealing that he had been in an altercation with classmates the previous day. He was then taken to Ambedkar Hospital and later moved to Safdarjang Hospital, where he died.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Rishi Pal said that no external injury marks were found on Vishal’s body during a medical examination. But on the insistence of Vishal’s father, a post-mortem examination will be performed to ascertain the exact cause of death, the police told PTI.
