A 32-year-old Filipino domestic worker who attacked the four-year-old son of Carson Yeung, the former Birmingham City Football Club chairman was sentenced to ten weeks jail on Friday.

Rochelle Lintag Dreck had pleaded guilty earlier to five counts of common assault at the Eastern Magistrates’ Courts, Sing Pao Daily reported.

Principal magistrate Bina Chainrai called the case serious, saying that the worker violated the trust she was given by her employer.

However, the judge said the case had dragged for too long as Dreck had been detained for almost one year, in which she had no income.

The court heard earlier that Dreck, who began working in 2010 with Yeung as her third employer, was accused of assaulting the boy in the kitchen of Yeung’s house at 31 Baker Road at the Mid-Levels, at the Convention Plaza Apartments on Harbour Road in Wan Chai, and at Canossa Hospital on Old Peak Road in 2016.

Dreck would slap the boy on his face, hit his hands with a comb, and poke his lip and nose, which caused nosebleeds, as shown by videos taken by another domestic worker later shown to the boy’s mother after she saw injuries on her son’s ears, Oriental Daily reported.
