A married Hong Kong renovation worker in Eastern Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday blamed a lack of sex at home as the reason why he took an upskirt video of a Filipina inside a lift last October.

Sit Ka-bo pleaded guilty to one count of obtaining access to a computer with a view to dishonest gain for oneself or another.

The 38-year old told the court that the intimacy between him and his wife had diminished since the birth of his daughter three years ago, Sing Tao Daily reported. He said he only had sex with his wife once every two months, and visiting porn sites or reading porn magazines did not help.

On October 2, 2016, around four months after his release from jail over an indecent assault conviction, Sit took an upskirt video of a 33-year-old Filipina by mobile phone inside a lift of a residential building of Greenwood Terrace in Chai Wan, Oriental Daily reported.

The victim told her employer about the incident and filed a report to the police two days later.

Magistrate Kenneth Chan Ping-chau criticized Sit for blaming a lack of sex with his wife for his misconduct. Considering his previous indecent assault conviction, a jail sentence for Sit would be deemed appropriate, he said.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 14, pending reports on his psychological assessment and the suitability of a community service order.
