An emotionally distressed 33-year-old Hong Kong man was arrested on Monday after he wielded a 30-centimeter-long knife and threatened to kill himself during a five-minute standoff with police outside a kindergarten formerly attended by his sons, Apple Daily reported.
When the police arrived, Liu pointed the knife at his neck, threatening to slash his throat.
He told officers he wanted to kill himself, before later dropping the weapon and giving himself up to police, according to a report by Oriental Daily with a reader’s video of the confrontation.
The kindergarten is located at Shun Tin Estate, Kwun Tong, Kowloon.
