Westinghouse, which filed for bankruptcy last week, is seeking a buyer for its nuclear reactor business, something Chinese entities have been interested in for years.

The possibility that the firm, which has previously been the target of Chinese espionage, could be purchased by a Chinese-linked firm, is setting off alarm bells in the Trump administration.

Members of Trump’s team, including Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Energy Secretary Rick Perry have reportedly discussed preventing the firm’s purchase by a Chinese firm, reports Bloomberg.
