Uwe Parpart, chief strategist at Capital Link International, explains the geopolitical ramifications of Syria’s poison gas attack and how US President Trump might discuss the issue with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“I think there will be a pretty positive reaction,” Parpart said. “I’m sure this will signal to President Xi over dinner rather than being sprung on him that the very clear message from Trump is that if you are not going to collaborate with us on North Korea then we will be forced to go in that direction.
“China will see it in its own interest to have some signal to the effect that they are going to act on North Korea,” Parpart said. “It could give way to a more positive reaction, depending on the outcome of Mar Lago. Is there a buying opportunity here? My view is, ‘Yes, buy Korea.’”
Parpart, who is also Editor of Asia Times, was appearing on the Bloomberg Market program.
Lol. How true. Or NK do it for them.
US need to offer some real trade off like removing or reducing their bases and troop levels in South Korea and stop their annual military exercises right on the borders.
