A 37-year-old Thai man was arrested in an apartment for possession of weapons and apparatus for taking drugs in Kowloon City during a police operation on Monday.
At 4:50 p.m. anti-triad squad officers of the Sham Shui Po District found two iron bars, a long knife, a machete, two replica guns and apparatus for smoking methamphetamine or “ice” in an apartment on 11-13 South Wall Road, Apple Daily reported.
The Thai man, a Hong Kong identity card holder and suspected triad member, was arrested during the operation, Sing Tao Daily reported. A group of Thai gangsters were suspected of planning crimes in the district while demanding protection money from Thai shopowners, according to the report, which cited a police source.
