Making new discoveries appears to be a resonating theme for the 10th edition of the Asia Contemporary Art Show, rolling out the red carpet for collectors and enthusiasts alike at the Conrad hotel in Hong Kong.
From March 17 to 20, the show will be the first art fair during Hong Kong Art Week and will welcome visitors to view more than 3,000 works presented by more than 80 galleries and artists from Asia and beyond. Artworks range from up-and-coming and mid-career artists, to those who have achieved success at auction.
Held across four floors at the Conrad Hong Kong, a hotel in Admiralty, invited guests get a preview on Friday evening, with general admission starting on March 18.
Aiming to reflect the evolving interests and tastes of both today’s young collectors and the more experienced, the 10th edition will present two new features, China Perspectives and Artist Projects.

These new platforms will serve as a springboard opportunity for emerging contemporary Chinese and international artists, either exhibiting in solo or joint presentations, to enter the dynamic Hong Kong art market. They will be encouraged to interact with visitors on a personal level, and be seen and heard in the art world.
Unlike other art fairs where galleries are the main exhibitors, more than 50 artists will also be present at the Asia Contemporary Art Show, and happy to chat with collectors and art enthusiasts about their work.

“Art is about discovery,” said Show Director Mark Saunderson. “It’s about finding a theme or engaging in a dialogue that resonates with you. It’s also about finding a common thread that binds people from different cultures together.
“I find that this is something that many young collectors understand, and as they seek to build their collections, they use the many tools at their disposal to research and understand art on its many levels. This includes not only buying art in real-time either at galleries or at art fairs, but also in the virtual world and through online platforms and marketplaces.”
