Thursday marked the first time Chinese and Pakistani troops have marched together in a formal ceremony, as members of China’s army, navy and air force joined a parade in celebration of Pakistan’s separation from India.
As the Financial Times writes, the two countries growing military co-operation in recent years has seen China become Pakistan’s main supplier of military hardware at a time of cooling US-Pakistani relations.
China’s alliance with Pakistan seeks not only to balance India’s influence in the region, but also to support China’s planned US$50 billion worth of infrastructure investments in the country, part of China’s coveted One Belt, One Road initiative.
No parades are milestones, IMHO.
Military marches are very important for Pakistanis. Pak politicians boasted in the past that friendship between China and Pakistan has been stronger than steel, sweeter than honey, higher than Himalayan mountains and deeper than oceans! Now it is time to sing " Chini -Pakin Bhai Bhai, .""
Perry Kamath : This is nothing but preparation to make Pakistan a leased Concubing for 99 years. Just like Sri Lanka had to concede 15,000 hectors to China for 99 years, despite strong violent protests by local residents.
Pakistan is a spent country, which is doomed to get annihilated by severe ingihting within its various factional groups. The terrorists, whom it so assiduousy fathered for so many years, are going to lead to its imminet breakage. This is very much evident from the daily run of suicides and bombings, its citizens face all over the country.
So, even if China comes to its help for a few years, Pakistan will anyway finish itself off.
