Duan Yongping spoke with Bloomberg this weekend on his iphone clones’ success overtaking Apple as top sellers in China. The billionaire who founded smartphone brands Oppo and Vivo says that Apple’s unwillingness to adopt cheaper products for the Chinese market was one of the main reasons the tech giant “couldn’t beat [Oppo/Vivo] in China.” But despite the phones market share success, they have a long way to go before they can compete with Apple’s profits in China.
