Two traffic accidents occurred in Sai Kung on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning respectively.

A 45-year-old woman surnamed Wong was knocked down by a black Porsche after she got off from a minibus at 7pm Tuesday evening on Hong Kin Road near the Sai Kung Outdoor Recreation Centre, Oriental Daily reported. She could not see the coming car as she was holding an umbrella.

The car slid for another 25 meters after it knocked down the woman, who suffered from severe injuries, including to her head. She remains in a critical condition at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The 57-year-old Porsche driver, also surnamed Wong, was arrested for causing grievous bodily harm through dangerous driving. He was later released on bail.

At 8.30am Wednesday, a taxi heading to Sai Kung town centre on Tai Mong Tsai Road lost control near Tso Wo Hang village and collided head-0n with a private sedan, Sing Tao Daily reported.

The taxi driver sustained injuries on head, arms and legs and both lanes of the road were closed for about an hour.
