Hong Kong’s Airport Authority (AAHK) has unveiled the winners of its ‘Design Your Airport’ competition, which gathered almost 250 entries. With judges basing their decisions on feasibility and sustainability, as well as creativity and aesthetics, the contest was aimed at providing workable examples of new airport designs.
The competition divided into two categories – one open contest and one for secondary school students. The winning entry integrated the design of a dim sum steamer. This beat other entries that were based on similarly traditional concepts, such as herbal tea, typhoon shelters and Cantonese opera. Read more
