After his months-long Asian tour that culminated in Taiwan, we thought we wouldn’t get to see him for a while, as the filming of his upcoming movie “Battleship Island” got under way. But no, the excitement isn’t over! South Korean heartthrob Song Joong-ki is to hold another fan meeting in Shanghai next Saturday (July 16).
What more? Korean singer Kim Jong-kook will be the special guest in Song’s upcoming meeting. Kim will sing “Today More than Yesterday” and “Lovable,” among a few others, Kpop Herald reported.
Song has held fan meetings in Beijing, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Chengdu and Taiwan this year. The upcoming meeting in Shanghai will mark the last in Song’s recent string of events in China.
Song’s agency, Blossom Entertainment, announced in a press release last Friday that Song will donate parts of his recent fan meeting revenues to victims of Sichuan earthquake, the report said.
Song has also donated all of his proceeds from Chinese TV shows “Happy Camp” and “Running Man” to a Chinese charity organization earlier this year.
Yibada reported that the Shanghai fan meet was initially scheduled for June 5, cancelled and has now been officially rescheduled for July 16.
It will be held in the Shanghai Indoor Stadium from 7:30 pm local time.
Song Joong-ki, who became an Asian icon after the grand success of the super-hit drama “Descendants of the Sun,” held a fan meeting in Taipei on June 25. Tickets sold out within minutes after the purchasing system went online.
While his hardcore fans, dominated by the female community, were on the lookout for tickets, several incidents of them being tricked by fraudsters were reported. Watch out!
