Siblings of Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong have issued an unprecedented public statement attacking the country’s leader and accusing him of misuse of power in what could be a seismic fracture in the legacy of their late father Lee Kuan Yew.
The statement by Lee Wei Ling and Lee Hsien Yang — titled What Happened to Lee Kuan Yew’s Values — expresses a lack of confidence in their brother and the prime minister to lead Singapore, alleging he is “milking” the legacy of their father to retain power.
“Since the passing of Lee Kuan Yew, on 23 March 2015, we have felt threatened by Hsien Loong’s misuse of his position and influence over the Singapore government to drive his personal agenda,” the statement says.
“We are concerned that the system has few checks and balances to prevent the abuse of government.”
I suspect the "damage" caused must be quite
substantial and hence was "told" to leave.. wasn’t a voluntary case offender wishes us all to believe..
If patriach is still around I believe such "bullying" of PM LHL by both siblings won’t happened..

Agree with you totally. To me both the siblings must have felt neglected by brother PM LHL and couldn’t get "preferential" treatments so they became "sore losers". What have both of them done for Singapore while bother PM LHL keeps Singapore ticking since the death of their father?
PM LHL did nothing wrong and he is keeping his father’s legacy alive. In fact he should remained PM of Singapore as long as possible.
Agree with you. Just look at LWL and LHY contribution to Singapore…very little and the damage they caused is tremendous.
I read the statements of Lee Wei Ling and Lee Hsien Yang. I am perplexed by some of the allegations. Let put aside their siblings arguments regarding LKY’s house at Oxley, since we are not privy to it and look at those we can see and comment. First, they claimed PM current popularity tight to LKY. The last election, PM got a big swing of 4% to PAP with nearly 70% voted for PAP. Did PM carried the placard of LKY to beg for people to vote for him? NO. He did it through good governance and inclusiveness. Did he needs Oxley house as a monument like the pyramid of Egypt to show how great Lee family is? NO. The citizens of Singapore can differentiate good from evil. PM is looking for a successor, if he is thirst for power, he will not handover Prime Ministership. If those statements come after 2020, and PM still LHL, there may be substance to the allegations, till then, I feel Lee Wei Ling and Lee Hsien Yang have been premature to jump to such conclusion. And they also have damaged Singapore good image!
