Associate Chief Justice Heather Holmes ruled that they had raised questions sufficient to give an “air of reality” to their allegations.

“It is not yet clear whether the abuse of process Ms. Meng alleges, if proven, would constitute circumstances serious enough to require a stay of proceedings to protect the integrity of the judicial process,” the judge wrote. “However, I cannot rule out the possibility that it would.”
