JP모간체이스는 최근 트럼프 대통령의 트윗 이후 금융시장의 변동성을 측정하는 새로운 ‘볼피피(Volfefe)’ 지수란 걸 공개하면서, 8월 들어 시장을 움직이는 무역 및 통화정책과 관련한 그의 트윗이 급증하자 채권시장의 변동성이 커졌다고 밝혔다.
JP모간체이스 분석가들은 10년 만기 미국 국채의 움직임을 1분, 5분, 1시간 등 다양한 간격으로 연구한 결과 이와 같은 결론을 내렸다.
‘불피피’라는 이름은 2017년 5월 트윗 글 ‘코브피피(covfefe)’에서 따왔다. ‘코브피피’는 정식 단어가 아니다. 트럼프 대통령은 ‘최고 트위터(Tweeter in Chief)’로 불리곤 한다.
시장을 움직이는 트럼프 대통령의 트윗은 그가 쓴 다른 트윗에 비해서 ‘좋아요’나 ‘리트윗’ 수가 적은 경향을 보이는 것으로 분석됐다. 가장 크게 시장을 움직인 단어들로 ‘중국’, ‘10억’, ‘제품’ 등이 꼽혔고, 이어 ‘달러’, ‘관세’, ‘무역’ 등이었다.
