قالت مفتية طليب، جدة عضوة الكونغرس الأمريكية من أصل فلسطيني – رشيدة طليب – إنها تنتظر زيارة حفيدتها، وذلك بعدما فشلت محاولة النائبة لزيارة فلسطين.
وكانت إسرائيل قد وافقت على طلب إنساني لرشيدة بزيارة أهلها بفلسطين، لكن تلك الموافقة جاءت بعد رفض إسرائيلي لطلب سابق قدمته رشيدة وزميلتها في الكونغرس الأمريكي المسلمة إلهان عمر، وكان رد رشيدة إن الشروط الإسرائيلية المتضمنة في تلك الموافقة تهدف إلى إذلالها، وأعلنت رفضها القيام بالزيارة.
وفي حوار مع وكالة رويترز أمس السبت، قالت الجدة: «أنا قلبي بيقول بدها تيجي».
وضغط الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب على رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتانياهو كي يمنع زيارة مخططة للنائبتين، باستخدام القانون الذي تم إقراره مؤخرًا لمنع دخول المؤيدين لمقاطعة إسرائيل إلى البلاد.
ووصف ترامب في تغريدة على تويتر مساء الجمعة رفض طليب للشروط الإسرائيلية ، بأنه رد «بغيض»، مضيفًا أن «الفائز الوحيد بحق هنا هو جدة طليب. هي لن تضطر لرؤيتها الآن».
لكن الجدة مفتية ردت قائلة إن «ستها بدها تيجي تشوفها».
وقال ابن مفتية وعم رشيدة، بسام طليب ، إنه «حتى فترة قريبة طلب (ترامب ) من إلهان ورشيدة يرحلن لبلدهن. شو هالتناقض؟ امبارح يقلهن ارحلن، واليوم بطلب ما يسمحولهن يدخلن»؟. وأضاف بسام إن مفتية لم تر حفيدتها منذ عام 2006.
وكان ترامب قد انتقد طليب وعمر وعضوتين أخريتين بالكونغرس الأمريكي – أكثر من مرة على مدار الأشهر الأربعة الماضية بسبب مواقفهن التقدمية ودعمهن لمقاطعة إسرائيل.
