A Singapore restaurant has paid compensation to a woman who allegedly had food poisoning after eating there with her friend.
The two women ate at a cafe in Bukit Batok, Singapore, and when one later complained on social media about having an upset stomach, the owner paid her some compensation.
According to an employee at the eatery, the owner read the woman’s complaint online, apologized to her and paid her S$150 in compensation.
The owner also promised better food safety controls, including limiting the amount of ready-to-serve dishes and reducing ingredient inventory to keep items fresh.
