Two Filipino women were found dead in two separate incidents in Aklan and Northern Samar in the Philippines.

One of the victims, a 16-year-old Filipina identified only as Jel, was last seen on May 16 after asking her father for permission to attend a party in Barangay Agbanawan in Banga, Aklan, GMA News reported.

However, Jel never returned home. On Wednesday, Jel’s body was found in a vacant lot just two kilometers away from her house. Jel was found with a wound on her head, which may have caused her death.

The suspect, identified as June Dela Cruz, surrendered to authorities and admitted to the crime. The police are still investigating whether the victim was raped before she was killed.

Another Filipina victim was found dead in a drain in Rosario, Northern Samar. The victim, whose identity remains unknown, was also found with a wound on her head.

Police believe that she was raped as her pants and underwear were pulled down.
