A woman who was seven months pregnant was killed when a car hit her and her husband while they were taking a morning walk in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Saturday.

The South Jakarta Police traffic corps said Tike Febriani Pratiwi was taking a morning walk with her husband Sarifudin at about 5:30 am when the accident happened, The Jakarta Post reported.

A Honda Brio hit them from behind near the SD 19 state elementary school in the Kebayoran Lama. Pratiwi was dragged by the car, while Sarifudin bounced off to the right side of the road. Both were rushed to the Kebayoran Lama Regional Hospital, but Pratiwi and her fetus were declared dead on arrival.

Sarifudin sustained injuries to his head and the driver – identified as TF, 41 – also sustained minor injuries and was in a state of shock.

According to police, TF was suspected to have lost control of his vehicle at the time of the accident. Authorities continue to investigate the case.
