Officials in Vietnam are in a dilemma over what to do with a naked Korean man – a statue that was a gift to the country from a city in South Korea.

The statue of the naked man was a gift from the mayor of Namyangju city in South Korea and was accepted by authorities in Thua Thien-Hue province, VN Express reported.

Le Truong Luu, the Party Secretary of the province, said the statue was meant to create solidarity between the two cities. However, local authorities are having a hard time choosing the right spot for the statue of the six-meter-tall naked man bowing his head.

According to Le, a meeting will be held on May 13 to decide on an appropriate location for the statue. He said the most suitable location for the statue would be in a garden along the Huang River.

The statue, named Greetingman, was made of aluminum by Korean sculptor Yoo Young Ho, with a message of “respect and understanding.”

South Korea has suggested it be located in the Imperial City in Hue, near the Huong River or the Dong Ba Market on Tran Hung Dao Street. However, local experts have ruled all of the locations out due to Feng Shui conflicts.
