Three Hong Kong men and five Thai women were arrested when the anti-triad squad raided a bar in Tsuen Wan in the New Territories on Friday night.
Acting on a tip-off and a thorough investigation, the anti-triad unit from Tsuen Wan Police Station and officers from the Immigration Department raided a pub at 170 Sha Tsui Road at 9pm, Oriental Daily reported.
Three Hong Kong men aged 45 to 56 were arrested for hiring illegal workers while five Thai women, aged from 21 to 33, were arrested for breaching the condition of their stay.
It was understood that the men had arranged for the Thai women to work and provide sex services in the pub. The five women were detained and later transferred to the Immigration Department for further management.
Last month, police raided a pub in Kowloon’s Sham Shui Po and arrested 24 people, including 21 women from Thailand who worked and provided sex services in the pub.
