近日，巴黎聖母院遭遇火災，花費八個世紀建造的文明瑰寶只要一把火就毀了。無獨有偶。4月21日，在山東省沂水縣的一處巖洞景區，三名遊人使用石頭敲打鐘乳石，使得四、五百萬年才形成的天然景觀，在短短25秒內便毀壞殆盡，基本沒有復原的可能。
4月30日山東省沂水縣公安局通報此案案情，稱破壞景觀偷盜鐘乳石、被公安機關上網追逃的犯罪嫌疑人仉某成迫於壓力已經自首。加上另外兩名嫌疑人單某友、任某平已於4月29日在山東東營市被抓獲，目前涉案的3名犯罪嫌疑人已全部到案。
根據景區的監控記錄，4月21日下午這幾名遊客在景區遊覽。其中一人來到景區「比翼鳥」鐘乳石經典景觀處，卻並沒有好好觀賞這個自然奇觀，而是拿著一塊石頭，將一塊鐘乳石敲下後離開。然後，另外兩名男子也過來敲掉了幾塊鐘乳石，放進懷裏揚長而去。
不僅監控視頻中記錄的「比翼鳥」被破壞，其中一名嫌疑人到案後又指認了兩處被破壞的鐘乳石。他們承認，他們是從東營來旅遊的，看到鐘乳石後心生貪念，三人便將「比翼鳥」鐘乳石景觀底部的3處鐘乳石用石塊擊斷後盜走，給景區造成重大損失。
鐘乳石被破壞以後，景區採取了一些防護措施，配備更多的人員加強巡視，並提醒遊客不要破壞鐘乳石。對於景觀修復的可能性，景區經理楊峰告訴記者：「肯定是沒有辦法復原的，這完全是靠大自然的力量形成的，被破壞的地方需要上百萬年的時間才能恢復，但很難再生長出「比翼鳥」的形態。」
