A domestic worker was injured on Friday when three men attacked the car she was traveling in with her employer in Sai Kung in the New Territories.

Her employer, a 66-year-old Hong Kong woman surnamed Leung, was driving her Mercedes Benz along Silver Crest Road in Silverstrand Bay after going shopping but their car was ambushed by people from another vehicle, Oriental Daily reported.

Three men, each holding a wooden stick, suddenly came out of the other car and smashed the windscreen of Leung’s Mercedes.

The domestic worker, 33, who was a passenger in the Benz, ended up hurt and bloody from cuts caused by broken glass from the shattered windscreen.

The three culprits also damaged the front of the car, plus a rear-view mirror and the doorframe before jumping into their own car and leaving.

The employer called the police. Paramedics arrived and managed the injuries to the worker’s hands. But she refused to go a hospital.

It was understood that the case might be related to disputes over money but further inquiries will be carried out by the crime unit at Tseung Kwan On Police Station.
