Police in Binh Duong, Vietnam, have arrested a man after three members of a family were found dead in their home on Tuesday.
Dao Thi Thu Cuc, 54, her daughter Tran Thi Quynh Nhi, 17, and her granddaughter Nguyen Thi Bao Tran, 8, were found dead with multiple injuries at their home on April 24, Viet Nam News reported.
According to police, Dao’s daughter Tran Minh Phuong discovered the bodies when she returned home from work at about 7 am on that day.
Phuong saw her eight-year-old daughter on the floor in a pool of blood when she looked into the house. She immediately called her neighbors for help, who broke into the house and found the other two dead on the floor.
Police said the suspect, 34-year-old Tran Trong Luan, was a neighbor. He visited the family frequently, but had been upset that Quynh Nhi treated him badly.
Police say he broke into the house armed with three knives and a machete and killed the three. He then returned home, took a shower and went out and threw the weapons away. Afterwards, he returned home and attempted to kill himself by overdosing on drugs.
Authorities have recovered the weapons used in the homicide.
