Police in Hanoi, Vietnam, have arrested a man who tried to molest an 11-year-old girl in an alley, with the assault caught on CCTV.

Officers in Thanh Xuan district said they arrested 41-year-old Nguyen Dinh Phuc and were proposing charges of “molestation of a person under 16,” VN Express reported.

After being questioned by police, Nguyen confessed that had been drinking on April 4. While riding home, he spotted two girls walking along an alley on Khuong Trung Street. He then tricked them into entering the alley.

He admitted he pushed the girl against the wall and touched her. He fled the scene after she let out a loud cry. A security camera near the spot captured the incident. Soon after, the footage was uploaded on social media.

The victim’s family then filed a police complaint and Nguyen was arrested. He is now facing up to three years in jail under Vietnam’s laws on molestating a person under 16.
