Washington appears to be headed toward a trade deal with Beijing, so the prognosis looks rosy for stock markets around the globe, a leading analyst in Hong Kong has said.

Brett McGonegal, the CEO of Capital Link, told Bloomberg TV: “There seems to be light at the end of the tunnel with the US and China.

“I think the US and China will forge some sort of ceasefire, or whatever we want to call it, but they’ll be actually friendly going forward, which will add real impetus for people to buy the market and move forward.”
