وافق البرلمان المصري اليوم الثلاثاء على تعديل دستوري يتيح للرئيس السيسي البقاء في الحكم حتى عام 2030، كما يوسع من سلطاته وسلطات الجيش.
تشير التوقعات لعقد الاستفتاء العام على التعديلات خلال الأسبوع القادم وهي الخطوة الأخيرة ليصدق الرئيس على التعديلات في حالة مرورها.
تنص إحدى مواد التعديل على مد الفترة الرئاسية لست سنوات، على أن يتم تطبيق المادة على الفترة الحالية للرئيس السيسي لتنتهي في 2024 بدلاً من 2022. كما نصت مادة أخرى انتقالية على على جواز انتخاب السيسي لفترة ثالثة تنتهي في 2030.
انتقدت المعارضة التعديلات التي رأتها تحايلاً على الدستور لإعادة إنتاج نظام استمرار الرئيس في الحكم مدى الحياة كما كان الحال مع الرئيس السابق حسني مبارك الذي حكم 30 عام قبل الإطاحة به في ثورة شعبية في 2011.
كان من المفترض أن تنتهي الفترة الرئاسية الثانية والأخيرة للرئيس السيسي في 2022 بحسب الدستور قبل التعديل الذي يحدد للرئيس فترتين فقط، كل منهما مكون من أربع سنوات.
