A 33-year-old Filipina domestic worker was arrested by Macau judiciary police for allegedly assisting a woman to indecently assault a child in her care, with her arrest allegedly based on the testimony of the 29-month-old infant.
The suspect surnamed Alota, who had worked for a family living in Rua da Praia do Manduco since June 2016, was arrested on Wednesday, Macao Daily News reported.
The alleged assault happened on December 27 last year when the 29-month-old girl allegedly told her mother that she felt pain in her private parts, which her mother found to be red and swollen.
According to the mother, the child told her that their domestic worker took her to Hac Sa Beach the day before, where allegedly a female stranger touched her private parts.
The parents reported the case to the police and sent the girl to hospital for a medical examination. Hospital staff confirmed that redness and swelling was found around the girl’s vagina.
Judiciary police took the worker in for questioning and began a search for the female stranger.
After further investigations and on the results of the medical examination, judiciary police officially arrested the domestic worker on Wednesday.
The suspect denied the offence, claiming she took the girl to the park in Coloane that day and that no stranger had come in contact with the child. The police are continuing their investigations.
